The Archdiocesan Family Life Commission holds a foundational place in the life and mission of the Church, as it is primarily tasked with the orientation, formation, and spiritual care of families, which are considered the domestic Church and the basic unit of Christian community. Its mission is both pastoral and prophetic—aimed at helping families live out the Gospel in their homes and reflect God’s love in society.
In a world where moral values are increasingly being eroded and many time-honored virtues are being replaced by vices, this Commission seeks to reawaken Catholic families to their divine calling. It promotes the dignity of marriage, responsible parenthood, respect for life, and the sanctity of the home. Through its programs and outreach, it fosters environments where love, respect, and discipline can thrive according to the teachings of the Church.
By focusing on the formation of the family, the Commission indirectly strengthens the entire Church. A healthy, faith-filled home is the seedbed of vocations, the first school of love, and the primary place where children learn to pray, to serve, and to live as disciples of Christ.
In all its endeavors, the Archdiocesan Family Life Commission seeks to inspire families to be living witnesses of the Gospel, offering a countercultural model rooted in charity, unity, and holiness. As the Church continues to face new challenges in the modern age, the Commission remains steadfast in its mission to rebuild society by rebuilding the family, one home at a time.
This commission has a touch of orientating the basic core of the Christian community towards imbibing good conduct at home and abroad; indoctrinating, training, and promoting Catholic teachings in the family where values have now been switched for vices. She plays a supervisory role to maintain, preserve; hand down what has been the deposit of faith in the life of the Church
